The understated elegance wedding trend has been around for a few years and we are always happy to create this stylish look for the minimalist bride. There are a lot of beautiful ways to pull off an understated wedding here in Maui and we are excited to show you how beautiful this look can be.

First, the couple opted for a single wedding invitation instead of a full invitation suite. It was simple and elegant and also incorporated a touch of color to represent their tropical wedding theme. This set the tone for their day and also acted as a point of reference when coordinating their wedding decor.

For the ceremony, the couple chose an understated 2-post wedding arch covered in sheer white fabric which made a clean and simple statement while at the same time added to the intimate atmosphere.

Their dinner table decor was a beautiful accent of tropical flower garland with touches of greenery to bring in a bit of Hawaii to their otherwise all-white table decor. A cupcake tower was set for dessert instead of a wedding cake, to keep within the understated theme.

Our goal at Makena Weddings is to always listen to our clients and their vision so that their event is a true representation of the two of them as a couple. We think this understated meets Maui look is absolutely beautiful and we’re excited for you to scroll through these lovely images courtesy of Joanna Tano Photography to see for yourself!
