Moody Maui Wedding at the Olowalu Plantation House

When Sissi and Nate started planning their moody Maui wedding, they knew that they wanted it to be intimate, romantic and fun. Hawaii is their favorite place to vacation as a couple so they knew that having their wedding in Maui would create the happy and relaxing island vibes that they wanted to share with their family and friends. They also wanted their wedding to be surrounded by nature and the ocean so what better venue than the oceanfront Olowalu Plantation House on the beautiful island of Maui! The Olowalu Plantation House is a completely private venue with ocean views as far as the eye can see.

Makena Weddings brought the couple’s vision to life by taking inspiration from the bridesmaids dresses which were a soft dusty mauve color. From there, touches of this beautiful color were incorporated into the wedding decor with starting with touches of dusty pink included into the bridal and bridesmaids bouquets. Reception decor is where their celebration turned into the moody Maui wedding of their dreams with dark wood farm tables lined with sheer mauve table runners, dusty pink glassware and delicate dusty blush and ivory blooms completing the look.

After romantic sunset photos around the stunning Olowalu Plantation House, the couple were announced into their reception and went straight into a romantic and fun choreographed first dance that everyone in attendance absolutely loved. We have to admit, we LOVE when our couples take the time to choreograph their first dance, the crowd always loves it and it gives the bride and groom something fun to work on together leading up to the big day.
