Why did Corey + Brittany choose to have their intimate Maui wedding at the oceanfront Kukahiko Estate? Because it is absolutely STUNNING, and it was completely different from the weddings the couple usually experience in East Texas, where they live. They loved the idea of getting away for a destination wedding while staying in the United States. They found the Kukahiko Estate to be breathtaking, and after seeing the property, they could not imagine a more beautiful place to say I Do.

Of course we also asked this gorgeous couple how they met, it’s one of our favorite things, to learn about and get to know our sweet couples:

We met while we were both working at Rice Elementary School in Tyler, Texas. While we worked together we were never romantically involved and rarely even spoke to each other. While Corey was deployed in Egypt, Brittany reached out through Instagram and we began just talking. We learned all about each other over the next 6 months while Corey finished his deployment. When Corey got back to the States we set up a date and the rest fell into place perfectly.

Of course their proposal story is just as sweet! The groom shares how he proposed:

When I had the idea of proposing to Brittany I of course wanted to ask her father for her hand in marriage and talk with her best friend to make sure the idea was all around supported. However, before I spoke to anyone about the idea, I had to speak to a special person first: her daughter, Sadi. After I talked with her, she was beyond excited. I then asked her father for her hand in marriage, he said yes and gave me the ring his parents had throughout their marriage. The ring was worn through a 60+ year marriage. For the location, I booked a trip to Las Vegas for us, once there, I waited until we were in front of the Bellagio fountains and pulled out a note that her daughter, Sadi, wrote for me to read at the proposal. After reading it aloud I got down on one knee and asked her to marry me. She in return asked, “Are you sure?” And then responded with YES!

They dreamed of a magical destination in Maui that was very intimate and special. They only invited their parents to be present because they wanted the moment to be something that just the 9 of them had to share and remember together for the rest of their lives.

It was definitely dreamy and magical to say the least, and they picked the perfect photographers in Dmitri and Sandra to capture it all.
