If a moody mauve Maui wedding drenched in gorgeous flowers at the oceanfront Olowalu Plantation House sounds like a dream to you, then we have the perfect wedding to share with you today! With a combination of elegance, fun and some moody mauve mixed in, their gorgeous decor created a super sweet and romantic vibe that was the perfect look for this amazing celebration of love.

So how did this couple from California decide on Maui as their destination wedding location? The bride shares:

Our first really big vacation together was on our 1-year anniversary and it was to Maui. We fell in love with the island and thought it only fitting with our love of travel to have a destination wedding. Maui seemed like the perfect place because it would be like coming full circle – our first big trip together and now we’re back to get married.

We love hearing these sweet stories of how Maui has touched our couples hearts, what a beautiful connection these two have with Maui now!

Of course, these lovebirds have the sweetest proposal story to share as well:

Jacob proposed on our 4-year anniversary. I came home to a photo of us on the front door that said, “flip me” and on the other side was a sweet note. I opened the front door to a dozen balloons with pictures of us tied to the ends and notes written on the back. There was a rose petal pathway, several vases of flowers and our song was playing. It was so sweet and so perfect!

The touches of mauve through this Maui wedding created some of the most gorgeous details! From the long, flowing mauve chair sashes that adorned the ceremony chairs, then were moved over to the rustic wood farm tables for dinner to the touches of mauve throughout the bride’s gorgeous bouquet and ceremony arch, touches of this romantic color were everywhere you looked. We especially loved the wooden backdrop adorned with breathtaking floral decor surrounding the couple’s last name! It was used as a fun backdrop for photos throughout Cocktail Hour, then was placed behind the couple’s sweetheart table which framed them perfectly!

So much love was radiating from this sweet couple the entire day, it was such a joy to witness so much love between both the couple and everyone that surrounded them. You would genuinely feel the love and we absolutely loved being a part of their happily ever after! A huge Mahalo and Congratulations to the newlyweds, from all of us at Makena Weddings!
