Yes, this bright, sunny, luxury wedding took place in Winter here on Maui! This is what you can expect when planning a Maui wedding during the cold winter months that most of our couples are experiencing during Winter but here on Maui, it’s always Summer weather! Though Isabelle and Patrick typically don’t experience cold Winteres where they are from either (Florida), they have always dreamed of hosting a destination wedding in Maui surrounded by their closest family and friends.

Since the first time we talked about our wedding we’ve always wanted a destination wedding in Maui. I have family on the island and have been a couple of times to visit and it is the only Hawaiian island Patrick hasn’t been to. We are wanting a ceremony full of love and intimacy and we felt there was no place more perfect than Maui.

These high school sweethearts chose to exchange vows at Maria Lanakila Catholic Church with an intimate and private ceremony, followed by a lively and colorful reception at the Olowalu Plantation House.

We have known each other since middle school and started dating our junior year of high school (marine bio class!). We have been dating for nearly 10-years now, most of it has been long distance as we went to undergrad, grad school, and residency programs in different states/cities. I am now a pharmacist and Patrick is in his second year of medical school.

As the couple and guests arrived at the Olowalu Plantation House they were greeted with a reception space filled with luxurious tropical floral decor dripping in greenery and orchids. A rustic bar was set with the backdrop of the bright blue Pacific Ocean while guests were served delicious tropical drinks and mouth-watering appetizers. After a lively cocktail hour, guests were guided to their seats by a beautiful seating chart with tropical touches. Each place setting was a luxurious piece of paradise for each of their guests with towering floral displays, beautiful place settings and loose orchids inside geometric hanging vessels. Every detail was thought of as the bride and groom dreamed up this elaborate look for their guests to savor.

We wanted our guests to walk away and feel that they had the most romantic/special/intimate experience. We wanted them to be wowed as well.  We feel like they are traveling so far to see us finally get married and we wanted to make this experience one they will never forget!

Mission accomplished!

Every guest in attendance was absolutely blown away by the beautiful decor and stunning views, the entire day was absolutely magical. In addition to the stunning decor, the bride absolutely wowed in her THEIA gown and luxurious bridal veil. A dreamy cascade of laser cut petals, hand appliquéd and finished with micro pearl beads!! We can’t wait for you to take a look for yourself! And if that wasn’t enough, Maui decided to show off with a glorious rainbow during the couple’s romantic photos on the property of the Olowalu Plantation House.

Congratulations to this sweet and beautiful couple, we had the best time working with you and getting to know you both during the planning process! A huge mahalo for choosing Makena Weddings as your Maui Wedding Planner!
