Faith and Dylan were the sweetest couple and so much fun! The bride is a cocktail blogger (@barfaith) so she and Dylan are known in their circle of friends as the “cocktail couple” so fitting as they are always hosting parties and introducing their friends to new cocktails and different spirits, how fun! As such, they wanted their wedding to be an extension of that, showcasing amazing drinks for their wedding guests to enjoy throughout the evening. They also included an amaro bar as they fell in love with the amaro culture while traveling around Italy.

Of course this fun couple has the sweetest meet cute, here is the story of how they first met from both perspectives:

HER STORY:

I had just moved to the Bay Area in August of 2012 to start work. I barely knew anyone in the area and was at a loss for how to make friends. I had heard about Meetup groups from a co-worker as a good way to meet new people, and within a couple of weeks, went to my first event at a dive bar. I met Dylan at that first event. He was goofy, charming, and raved about his recent discovery of the thrill of snowboarding. After that night, we started hanging out regularly and within 2 months, officially started dating.

HIS STORY:

The setting of our first encounter was something from a romantic novel: a suburban dive bar called Fred’s. At this event, we met many great friends who are still with us today. We continued to see each other within our friend group, pretending to not be *too* interested in each other. Finally, after we both dressed as cows for Halloween, we realized that we were udderly smitten, and began officially dating.

The couple got engaged on Maui during a romantic vacation so they decided to return to this gorgeous island with their closest family and friends in tow for an epic vacation ending with their Maui wedding. They envisioned an elegant, enchanting, ethereal celebration at the Olowalu Plantation House, prominently featuring greenery in their decor to amplify the tropical jungle feel. They focused on natural materials like wood with clean and simple designs with the couple’s favorite plant: monstera incorporated into their signage and invitations.

As you’ll see after scrolling through the images below, their Maui wedding was an absolute dream, and completely captured the essence of the two of them as a couple. A huge congratulations to the newlyweds, and Mahalo for choosing Makena Weddings as your Maui wedding Planner!
