Ruijuan and Raymond met at the office in 2012 and after spending some time getting to know each other on a deeper level, both knew that they would spend the rest of their lives together. They had a large, traditional wedding ceremony in Ruijuan’s hometown in the Shandong province of China so they decided to have a small, intimate event for their family and closest friends to enjoy together in the US. As the bride had visited Maui in the past, they decided that there wasn’t a more perfect place to celebrate their love for each other than at the beautiful Olowalu Plantation House on Maui’s west side.
They envisioned a casual ceremony with all white decor and a few fresh pineapples lining the aisle. For their reception, they wanted their family and friends to enjoy spending time together in a fun and relaxing atmosphere. Delicious appetizers by Cafe O’Lei Restaurants and creative libations by Maui Bars Are Us started the celebration during cocktail hour, while the couple was off taking romantic images with their photographer, Naomi Levit. As they made their way into their reception after the sun had set, the party really got started with DJ Mike Penn providing lively music for dinner and dancing under the stars.
We so loved working with this sweet couple and wish them all of the happiness in the world. Congratulations Ruijuan and Raymond, and thank you for choosing Makena Weddings as your Maui Wedding Planner!
