Working as a Maui Wedding Planner here on this beautiful island, we are so lucky to meet people from all walks of life. We absolutely love hearing how our couples met  and how they became engaged, as their Maui Wedding Planner, we think it’s important to get to know our couples and their love story in order to put together the perfect wedding that represents the two of them as a couple. Their answers are always so sweet and prove time and again how every meeting is written in the stars and meant to be. More than a few of our couples have told us that they met while walking their dogs and Krystal and Jonathan’s story started that way as well. They both lived in the same apartment complex in Huntington Beach and would often cross paths while walking their dogs and would say hello. From the bride:

Jonathan likes to tell everyone that I ignored him for months LOL. One Sunday we were both downtown grabbing drinks and ran into each other at our favorite bar, Hurricanes. He offered me a seat at his table, and the rest is history! A year later we were in Maui for my 30th birthday. We were staying at the Grand Wailea and had spent a great day laying by the pool and beach. Jonathan planned dinner for us that evening at the Four Seasons. As we were walking back to our hotel after dinner he suggested walking along the beach. We were the only ones on the beach and he asked me if I had had a good birthday. He grabbed my hand, turned me around and he was down on one knee! 

They had the most amazing time in Maui when they got engaged and couldn’t wait to come back. So naturally, they knew right that Maui was the perfect location for their destination wedding. They fell in love with the gorgeous Olowalu Plantation House, hired their Maui Wedding Planner and everything else fell perfectly into place.
