These two lovebirds from Colorado chose to have a morning Maui wedding at the Olowalu Plantation House. Alex and Taylor immediately hit it off after meeting on a dating app and the rest as they say is history! We love how their proposal story shows that no matter how much planning goes into a proposal, all that really matters are the two people in love, not where and how the question is asked. 🙂 The bride shares:

Taylor intended on proposing the night before the actual proposal happened. He took me to see Norah Jones at the Opera Theater (my favorite artist), followed by a very nice dinner. I thought he might propose that night since it was a pretty rare occurrence for me to dress up that nice, and we just so happened to walk by the champagne bar where we had our first date. But alas, no proposal. The next morning I was kind of bummed and Taylor explained that he tried many times the night before but it didn’t work out. So he proposed right there in the middle of the kitchen. I still tease him about it. I did mess up one of his attempts, poor guy.

The couple wanted a small, intimate, relaxing wedding with nature being a big part of their celebration. In Colorado the couple lives close to the Flatirons so celebrating in Maui, with the backdrop of the ocean and the kissing tree at the Olowalu Plantation House, felt like the right place to enjoy the moment with their family and friends.

Their entire day was absolutely perfect and we could not be happier for the newlyweds! Congratulations from all of us at Makena Weddings and thank you for choosing us as your Maui Wedding Planner!
