Cameron proposed to Marybeth on a romantic vacation in Hawaii so when it came time to decide on where to have their destination wedding, they knew that they had to gather their closest family and friends and travel to our beautiful island. The bride shares how Cameron popped the question:

Cameron and I both love to travel. Last fall I found an awesome airfare sale and convinced Cameron to spend Easter in Hawaii (we spent a week in Maui and a week in Kauai). Little did I know, Cameron carried an engagement ring across the country in his backpack for the entire two weeks of our trip! On our last day in Kauai, we spent the day at Shipwreck Beach. While I was reading on the beach, Cameron had gone up and jumped off the cliff. Mid-day he asked if I wanted to go up with him as he said the view from the top was awesome. I was so clueless and followed up and was taking in the view when I turned around and he was on one knee!!! I couldn’t believe how surprised I was and can honestly say, it was the happiest day of my life and the BEST surprise I could have ever imagined.

Exactly 1-year to the day that they became engaged, they said I do at one of the most romantic places on the island of Maui, Gannon’s Wailea.

The couple and their families live in Eastern Canada so at first, they thought it might be too far or too expensive for everyone that they wanted to attend. But they kept coming back to Maui, and as it turns out, their family and friends were dying for an excuse to visit the beautiful island. Cameron and Marybeth couldn’t imagine a more beautiful place to share such a special vacation with their closest family and friends and we certainly agree!

The couple’s must-have requests for decor were a beautiful arch with fabric and flowers, upgraded Chiavari chairs, beautiful outdoor lighting, and one long table in order to enjoy dinner together with all of their guests. Makena Weddings and their fabulous team of vendors made sure that this sweet couple got exactly what they wanted and more! We can’t wait for you to scroll their their amazing images below, captured perfectly by Nicole Anne Photography.
