Kristin and Chris, both from Minnesota, met how so many of our couples do, via an online dating site. They connected instantly and have been happily together ever since. We love a good proposal story and theirs is no exception:

Our first date (1/22/17) was at the Minneapolis Institute of Arts and our connection was electric and instant. Chris took Kristin to an exhibit at MIA the following year; he surprised her as the museum was closing and got down on one knee in the very first spot he reached for her hand that special first date almost 2 years ago. Kristin jumped on top of him while museum guests recorded the moment with their smartphones. Chris had asked both Kristin’s mom and dad for her hand in marriage and arranged for both parents to be close-by for an engagement celebration.

Chris has a special relationship with Kristin’s two daughters and has been an integral part of their lives for the past two years, so it was imperative to the couple that they include the girls into their ceremony at the Kukahiko Estate. As you scroll through these beautiful images courtesy of Tara Lee Photography you’ll see how sweet and special the girls felt as they were called up for some meaningful words during the ceremony. We know they will remember this moment for the rest of their lives, it was such a special moment that we were honored to be a part of.

Mahalo to Kistin and Chris from all of us at Makena Weddings, we wish you and your beautiful girls a lifetime of love and aloha!
