If you love organic + natural wedding decor then you are going to love Sarah and Alex’s Maui wedding at the Olowalu Plantation House! This sweet couple wanted a wedding that felt intimate and classic in shades of sage, neutrals and greenery, and wanted their guests to feel like family throughout the day. They agreed that the island of Maui would be the perfect destination wedding venue to provide both the natural beauty and feeling of family to their celebration. The bride shares:

We originally wanted to have a destination wedding because we both love to travel and wanted to have an intimate wedding with our closest family and friends. Alex and his family lived in Hawaii for a period of time while he was growing up and he fell in love with the culture and beauty of the islands. After investigating various locations, I too fell in love with the beauty of Maui.

We love hearing the beautiful ways in which our couples become engaged, and of course this couple’s proposal story is as beautiful and down to earth as the couple themselves:

We spent three weeks in Southeast Asia this past November with two of our best friends, Lily and Christian. While we were in Vietnam we rented mopeds and drove along Hai Van Pass. It was a beautiful sunny day, and along the way, we were able to admire beautiful beaches and hidden coves. At the top of the pass we stopped to hike and further admire the view. At one of the temples at the top of the pass, we lit incense and remembered some of our loved ones who are no longer with us. I turned around to look out over the water once again, and when I turned back, Alex was down on one knee ready to propose!

Sarah and Alex celebrated their Maui wedding exactly the way that they had dreamed of: surrounded by their family and friends, and through their choices of music, food and decor, their guests left feeling like they learned more about them as a couple. And we felt the exact same way!
