When your two favorite vacation destinations collide!  This gorgeous Maui wedding at the Kukahiko Estate incorporated small elements of Italy as both of these locations hold a special place in the bride and groom’s hearts. Jocelyn and Nathan’s first international trip together was to Italy and that is also where they became engaged, the bride shares:

Our plan was to spend 2 weeks traveling through Italy, starting in Venice and ending in Amalfi. On our second day in Venice, we took a private boat tour around the canals and that’s where he proposed.

A year later the couple visited Maui together for the first time and fell in love with the island. Since then they have been back multiple times and always wished to have their wedding in Maui but they felt the pressures of having a traditional wedding closer to home. They went as far as having their wedding completely planned for July 2020 in San Francisco but due to the pandemic, they had to cancel. Their original venue wasn’t willing to reschedule so they both saw that as a sign to have their dream wedding in Maui!

Since the couple also has a profound love for Italy, they incorporated some of the things that they cherished during their time there into their wedding here on Maui. They loved the concept of long dinners where people ate amazing food, drank wine and shared stores around the table. They wanted that same relaxed feeling to be shared during their wedding, surrounded by a small group of family and friends, sharing good food, good stories and enjoying the amazing ocean view from the Kukahiko Estate.

The couple wanted their guests to walk away from their wedding feeling like they just enjoyed the best dinner party of their lives and we can confidently say that they definitely got their wish. We encourage you to scroll down to the bottom of this post to see exactly what we mean.

Every element of this gorgeous Maui wedding was simply beautiful, elegant and represented Jocelyn and Nathan perfectly as a couple. We were so honored to have been chosen as their Maui Wedding Planner and wish these two sweet newlyweds a lifetime of love and Aloha!
