Kerry & Raymond’s modern glam Maui wedding was straight out of a fairy tale and we at Makena Weddings had the best time planning it! Filled with gorgeous white blooms by Dellables Floral Design and touches of gold details throughout, their modern glam Maui wedding was the perfect blend of elegance and luxury. While every last, romantic detail was planned to perfection, the way that this sweet couple came to be, 25-years after their first meeting, was the most romantic detail of all! From the bride:
My family bought a piece of property beside Raymond’s family farm 25 years ago. I became fast friends with Raymond’s father and mother, with his father teaching me how to garden in Alberta weather conditions and his mother teaching me how to bake. Raymond and his brothers became distant friends, I hardly ever saw them as they were and are a very hard working family. Years went by and both Raymond and I had been going through difficult personal times. It was suggested in passing by a girlfriend of mine that I should somehow get back to basics and have coffee with Raymond Moffitt. I laughed it off but Raymond called me an hour after my conversation ended with my girlfriend.
On our first lunch date together we talked for over 2 and half hours! As I was saying good bye, he told me to stop and wait in the parking lot as he had something for me. He comes from his vehicle holding a massive flower arrangement. I put it in the front seat and couldn’t see out my window… I laughed all the way home! I knew he was a keeper, and we have never been apart since that lunch date!
After their heartfelt wedding ceremony, officiated by Al Terry, guests were treated to an elaborate cocktail hour that included an oyster and shrimp raw station, avocado bar and signature cocktails provided by the wonderful catering staff at Sugar Beach Events.
