When it comes to the old tradition of something blue on your wedding day, how fun is it when your whole bridal party acts as your something blue!? Having her bridesmaids dressed in the most romantic shade of soft blue provided a gorgeous and romantic accent color while also keeping with the tradition of including something blue into the wedding day. The bride carried a beautiful bouquet featuring white roses and white King Protea, while her bridesmaids carried a smaller version of the bride’s bouquet. We have to say that this color combination absolutely stole our hearts, and completely complimented the sparkling blue ocean along with all of the greenery that surrounds the estate that was also worked into their reception decor.

So how did the couple decide on Maui as their destination wedding venue? Kelly and Trevor live in San Francisco, California, but visit Maui often since Trevor’s family lives on Maui. They even got engaged on Maui after about 6 1/2 years of dating! The bride shares:

Trevor planned a full afternoon of our favorite activities, lunch at our favorite restaurant, Star Noodle, and a walk along Kaanapali Beach. On our way back to Trevor’s family home, we pulled off at the beach near his parent’s neighborhood and walked to the end of the beach, where Trevor proposed. Trevor’s dad was hidden in the bushes taking pictures of the entire moment. Afterwards, we headed back to Trevor’s family home where Trevor planned an engagement party with all of our family and friends on the island and a surprise visit from Kelly’s parents.

They both love the beaches, the weather and the delicious food so choosing Maui as their destination wedding location was an easy decision to make! The couple wanted to create a rustic, natural feel with their reception decor, so greenery runners interspersed with white blooms greeted their guests as they were seated for dinner under the clear Hawaiian sky. They dined and danced under the stars surrounded by their closest family and friends, which is exactly how they wanted to spend their first evening as husband and wife.

Congratulations to Kelly and Trevor, we wish you an endless number of nights as magical at this one! Mahalo from all of us at Makena Weddings for choosing us as your Maui Wedding Planner.
