This Maui Vow Renewal is pure perfection and a beautiful example of long-lasting, enduring love. Juanita and Mariano celebrated their 50th Wedding Aniversary at the sprawling, oceanfront Pono Makena Estate and it was truly an honor for us at Makena Weddings to be a part of such a special event. The Golden (50th) Anniversary marks spending half a century together in love with one person, it’s a huge relationship milestone! And what an adventure this wonderful couple has had during their 50 years as a married couple. They were surrounded and celebrated by their family and friends, including their four children and nine grandchildren who played a special part in their Maui Vow Renewal. Juanita had suffered a stroke so she was unable to talk or walk, the couple had their two oldest grandchildren stand up with them and they spoke for their grandmother. It was so incredibly touching and a such a beautiful thing to witness.
Gold is the traditional 50th Anniversary gemstone, being beautiful, strong and resistant, it was also the perfect way to describe this loving couple! The couple both wore gold and their decor included gold touches throughout including gold chiavari chairs, gold chargers, gold flatware, and vintage gold rim glassware. They were toasted and celebrated throughout the evening under a beautiful white wedding tent strung with twinkle lights and hanging crystal chandeliers which added a warm golden glow as the sun went down.
