Deanne and Jim had their first date at 7:23 pm on May 22nd, 2016. They met at a small bar in New York’s Lower East Side named Forgetmenot. Jim was 15 minutes early and Deanne was 23 minutes late. After an awkward handshake, they relaxed over a couple of watermelon margaritas and the rest, as they say, is history.
Since that day, they’ve…
Learned how to understand each other’s accents.
Thrown softballs and kicked Australian footballs.
Driven a campervan around Lake Tahoe.
Rode horses in Nevada.
Drunk gallons of American coffee and eaten kilos of vegemite toast.
Flown through two New York blizzards.
Gone to Mets games, Giants games, Rangers games, and one Richmond game.
Spearfished during “Shark-tober.”
Ridden bikes down a volcano.
Skied in Vermont.
Skated in Central Park.
Cycled through Paris.
Surfed at Bondi.
And hiked in Cape Town.
They’ve kissed kangaroos.
Run with giraffes.
Gotten too close to a lion.
And happily worshipped a cat named Gatsby.
They’ve eaten Andrews hamburgers, Ed’s lobster rolls, Geno’s Philadelphia Cheesesteaks and two packs of Malaria medication.
They celebrated Bastille Day in Paris.
Watched the sun never set in Helsinki.
Introduced their families in Brooklyn.
And won the Gadaleta New Year’s Eve beer pong championship.
After all of that only one thing was left: Get married on a tropical island in the middle of the Pacific and celebrate with an incredible party!
Deanne and Jim’s Maui wedding was nothing short of amazing and after getting to know these two vibrant souls, we honestly couldn’t imagine it any other way.
